ABSTRACT
The Far North Cameroon in general, the most vulnerable populations face considerable challenges. They must simultaneously face social insecurity and ecological crises. Significant socio-ecological transformations that have been threatening the Sahel for decades, have significantly modified the production systems of peasant companies. Particularly, the rural women of the Mayo-Danay department located on the bank of the logone, are deeply impacted by such mutations. Based on field survey results with 130 women women, this article examines the particular situation of women still dependent on rainfed agriculture. It analyzes socio-economic realities, the mechanisms of adaptation and resilience of the latter face to the ecological crises. Supported by ethnomethodology and the theory of structuring, the results show that the strategies developed by them allow them to respond effectively to climate disturbances.
