ABSTRACT
The study on time management and productivity is fundamental, as excessive time waste has been identified as negatively affecting productivity and performance. This motivated the researcher to conduct this study among religious institutions. The study findings concluded that effective time management is necessary for enhancing productivity in Pentecostal churches in Nakawa Division, Kampala City. It highlighted the need for dynamic and targeted interventions to manage and improve time management practices. The study reflected that the majority of the participants (75%) set priorities, which is a positive indicator of time management awareness. However, only 40% used daily planners, and 30% used time-blocking techniques. This showed a gap between awareness and implementation of the time management aspect. From qualitative findings, it indicated that leaders often struggle with balancing administrative tasks, pastoral care, and personal time. Limited delegation and reliance on a few key individuals especially senior pastors, further exacerbates time constraints. The study identified technology to be crucial for time management and enhanced productivity in these churches, such as online meetings, online study, and calendar apps, among others, which was moderate (50%), indicating an opportunity for increased utilisation of technology to improve time management. The productivity levels in these churches were generally positive, but there was a consensus among respondents that effective time management has the potential to lead to greater efficiency and effectiveness in achieving church goals.
