ABSTRACT
The main objective of the study was to investigate the causes of liquidity problems in a micro-finance institution. The specific research objectives were; to assess the effects of term deposits on liquidity, to determine the effects of donations on liquidity and to evaluate the impacts of staff contributions on liquidity of the micro-finance institution. The case study was the Cameroon Baptist Development fund. The research was both qualitative and quantitative in nature. The data collection was primary through closed-ended questionnaires. The sample size was made up of 80 respondents that were randomly selected. The respondents’ rate was 92%. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to present and analyze the data. The Data was analyzed using regression coefficient and correlation analysis. The findings show that donations and staff contributions have significant effects on the liquidity situation of the financial institution.
