ABSTRACT
The effectiveness of strategic inventory control strategies and operational performance may be measured in the demanding and competitive world of today. The purpose of this study was to examine the factors affecting strategic inventory control and operational performance of manufacturing firms in Daynile district Mogadishu Somalia. Descriptive design was the method used, with the target population of manufacturing entities in Daynile district. Information from primary (questionnaires) and secondary sources was
combined during this study. The study participants were 31 respondents thus census was carried out to study the entire population of 34 employees of manufacturing firms in Daynile district. According to the findings, EOQ, Just-InTime, ABC Analysis, Warehouse Management System, and Demand Forecasting were all found to have been greatly adopted by the Manufacturing Companies in the Daynile district of Somalia. Descriptive statistics were used to analyze the first objective and regression analysis was used to analyze the second objective. The results also show that the dependent variable
(operational performance) was positively influenced by the independent variable (strategic inventory control) and that the adoption of strategic inventory control significantly impacted efficiency, speed, and quality. Manufacturing companies are advised to heavily employ strategic inventory control techniques. Further studies are also recommended in the future.
